The former brewery was to become a new center city residential district with loft apartments, retail space, an underground parking garage with 650 parking spaces and an underground museum according to the plans of the American architect Fredrick Fisher.<\/p>\n<p class=\"lead\">For the gallery, the National Museum for Modern Art, Photography and Architecture, new space was to be constructed in the center of the complex in the historically protected existing structures, including the former brewery basement.<\/p>\n<p>The existing buildings were renovated into lofts with additional storeys added in some cases. The new construction of townhouses and apartment buildings was also executed  in a loft style. Parts of the existing structures were used to create a leisure area including spa, restaurants and event areas. <\/p>\n<p><span class=\"grauel_contentsubheadline\">The services provided focused on:<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_projekte_text_rechts\">\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Purchase and acquisition of the former brewery<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Demolishing for new construction and securing of the existing structures<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Execution of an international urban design competition<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Creation and maintenance of a zoning plan<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Negotiation and signing of an urban development contract<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Contracting and coordination of 7 international architecture firms (Los Angeles, Paris, Basel, Vienna, Frankfurt, Berlin)<\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Coordination of construction permission<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Maintenance of the necessary legal records (purchase contracts, land register, etc.)<\/div>\n<div class=\"grauel_anstrich\">Leading the sales efforts<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The project entailed the development of an approximately 50,000 m\u00b2 complex at the foot of the hill after which the Kreuzberg area of Berlin is named.
